Ubisoft has released the story trailer for Watch Dogs: Legion along with information on post-release content.

In Watch Dogs: Legion, Zero-Day, an unknown entity, has framed DedSec for bombings that contributed to the fall of London.

In the game, you will work to liberate London by building a resistance.

Alongside the story trailer, Ubisoft announced that the online multiplayer mode of the game will be available on December 3 as part of a free game update for all players.

The Online mode of Watch Dogs: Legion will include the following features as part of the free update:
  • Free-roam open-world co-op where players can team up with their friends for up to four-player co-op and explore the city of London and participate in side activities
  • New co-op missions for two-to-four players using new co-op gameplay mechanics and giving players the opportunity to recruit the perfect team
  • Four-player co-op Tactical Ops missions which will require teamwork and efficiency
  • The first available Player-vs-Player (PvP) mode, Spiderbot Arena, where four-to-eight players control armed spiderbots and compete in a high-intensity free-for-all deathmatch
New free content for the single-player mode will be available in a future update in 2021, and will include:
  • New characters with new abilities
  • New mission content
  • A New Game Plus mode
Additionally, players who acquire the Season Pass will get access to Bloodline, a new storyline which includes Aiden Pearce from the original Watch Dogs game and Wrench from Watch Dogs 2, fully playable in the single-player campaign and online, along with two other characters:
  • Darcy, a member of the Assassin Order, thanks to a cross-over with Assassin’s Creed
  • Mina, a subject of transhuman experiments, who possesses the ability to mind control individuals
The Season Pass will offer extra DedSec missions, the original Watch Dogs Complete Edition from 2014, and more. The Season Pass of Watch Dogs: Legion is available for purchase as part of the Gold, Ultimate, and Collector editions.

Watch Dogs: Legion will release on October 29 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and for Windows PC on Epic Games and Uplay. The game will also be available on UPLAY+.

It is also coming to Xbox Series X/S on November 10 and on PS5 on November 12. The physical version of the game on PlayStation 5 will be available on November 24. The game will also be available on Amazon Luna when the Ubisoft channel launches.

Players who purchase the game on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 will be able to upgrade their game to the next-gen version at no additional cost.

After multiple delays, it is finally time to see if Watch Dogs: Legion has been worth the wait.

Watch Dogs: Legion, essentially the first next-gen game of the year, released this week on PC and current-gen consoles. While we all wait for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S to arrive, lets actually see how it fared with critics.

Legion is the third Watch Dogs game, and though it uses certain elements and concepts from the series, it is not a direct sequel to either of the two games. Legion takes place in near-future London, under siege by an army of mercenaries who operate under the guise of keeping the peace following a terrorist attack.

Here's a round-up of the reviews and scores from across the internet

According to Eurogamer, and other reports from across the internet, Watch Dogs: Legion, running on an Xbox One X, has a game-breaking bug where the game locks up, and the console shuts itself down.

Eurogamer's reported issue comes around six to eight hours into the campaign. After completing a mission called 404, the game freezes and the console displays a shutdown warning before turning itself off. This is likely down to an overheating issue.

Ubisoft is currently aware of the technical issues with Watch Dogs: Legion and says that a hotfix will be rolled out on October 30th.

I had high hopes for this, but I've been watching streams of it for a couple hours and it feels empty, lifeless, the AI is atrocious.

One guy pushed a motorcyclist off their bike, the biker just casually walked away as he stole the bike, other cars he stole didn't even have a driver! in general random AI don't seem to interact with your character at all. I found the voice acting irritating all-round too.

I haven't read any reviews as I wanted to see it in action for myself. I'll watch some more, but unless it takes ages to really get going, I don't think it's for me.

Watch Dogs Legion‘s delayed online multiplayer will be coming to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC in March now that the developer has squashed all those troublesome bugs.

Ubisoft has announced that the online mode for Watch Dogs Legion (which was delayed back in November 2020) will be available on March 9, and it will be free for all owners of the game via a free update on consoles and PC.

The main sell of the update is four new modes that will allow you to wreak havoc across the game’s interpretation of London, and you’ll be able to tackle the open-world in co-op, or engage with more challenging mission-based experiences in Tactical Ops.

Ubisoft was supposed to launch the London-based game’s multiplayer modes in a dedicated patch on December 3, but thanks to myriad issues with the game – including progression-related bugs that halt all progress in some versions of the release – the developer decided to push the patch into 2021.

As per a Ubisoft press release, here’s what you’ll be able to enjoy if you download and play the long-awaited update:
  • Free-roam open-world co-op where players can team up with their friends for up to four-players and explore London, encounter city events, complete challenges and participate in side activities.
  • New co-op missions for two-to-four players using new co-op gameplay mechanics and giving players the opportunity to recruit the perfect team and fight back against London threats across the most iconic landmarks of the city.
  • “Leader of the Pack,” the first four-player co-op Tactical Op which will require teamwork and efficiency. It’s made of five interconnected narrative missions which are endgame content, made for players who are seeking a challenge.
  • Players will need to strategise and communicate effectively with their teammates and ensure they have upgraded gadgets and recruited a strong cast of characters.
  • The first available Player-vs-Player (PvP) mode, Spiderbot Arena, where four players control armed spiderbots and compete in a high intensity free-for-all deathmatch.
If you already have the game’s Season Pass, you will be able to access two new single-player missions starting on March 9, too. They are:

Guardian Protocol:
  • DedSec tracks an algorithm that could allow AI to override human decisions. If they don’t find it, it could be used to turn weaponized drones into autonomous executioners.
Not in Our Name:
  • A secret group is stealing DedSec’s name. Worse, they’re also stealing information so their employer, a ruthless tabloid owner, can use it to blackmail their victims.
