Xbox Game Pass Quests has moved away from game-focused tasks and towards exploration of the large library across daily, weekly and monthly periods.
Our goal with the Quests program is to help you discover and try new games and be rewarded for playing the Xbox Game Pass games you love. We heard your feedback about improving Quests and making this a better experience while gaming, so you can now play any Xbox Game Pass console game to earn points. We’ll still have Quests around specific games, so Quests will continue to be a great way for you to discover games you may not have tried yet.
There are still quests specific to certain games but there will also be generic daily, weekly and monthly quests to complete that will earn players Microsoft Rewards points which can be used in the Microsoft Store.

To check new quests out on the Xbox One, head to Achievements > See all my Achievements > Compare Games > Stats. The Xbox Game Pass app is also available on iOS and Android devices and will be able to check via the Quests section of the app.

New games coming to Game Pass in August

Coming_soon_AllTitles_8.5_JPG.jpg

Darksiders: Genesis (Console) – August 6
An action/adventure game that tears its way through hordes of demons, angels, and everything in-between on its way to Hell and back with guns blazing and swords swinging. Genesis gives players their first look at the world of Darksiders before the events of the original game. Furthermore, it introduces the fourth and last horseman Strife, as well as co-op gameplay for the first time in the franchise.

It Lurks Below (Console & PC) ID@Xbox – August 6
The world is being slowly corrupted, and you have awoken from a terrible dream. Create a customized character and choose from several different classes to delve deep into the mysteries of what evil lurks below. Dig down and explore the randomly generated levels, find random items, and combat deadly monsters to get the answers in this retro-styled, 2D, action-oriented, survival RPG by David Brevik.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan (Console) – August 6
Five friends set sail on a holiday diving trip and as the day unfolds, a storm rolls in and their trip soon changes into something much more sinister. Who will live? Who will die? It’s up to you and the choices you make. You can also share your terrifying story with a friend online or go for safety in numbers with the up-to-five-players offline “movie night” mode.

Trailmakers (Console & PC) ID@Xbox – August 6
Build an amazing vehicle out of blocks and explore an alien planet in Trailmakers. This physics-based action game lets you build anything from hypercars and helicopters to hovercrafts and hydrofoils. Play solo or with friends in huge sandbox maps or perfect your race car to perfection in the Trailmakers Rally.

UnderMine (Console & PC) ID@Xbox – August 6
Delve deep into the UnderMine and discover its secrets, one peasant at a time! UnderMine is an action-adventure roguelike that blends combat and dungeon crawling with RPG-like progression. Mine gold, die, upgrade yourself, and try again! Challenge dangerous bosses and rescue helpful characters that supply new upgrades for your adventure. Decipher the cryptic messages of the UnderMine’s residents and unfold the mystery at the heart of the dungeon.

Xeno Crisis (Console & PC) ID@Xbox – August 6
Run and gun your way through seven distinct areas and master an arsenal of ten different weapons as you take on thousands of varied adversaries in this top-down arena shooter for one or two players. It will require guile, composure, and good judgement to have a chance of reaching the final showdown. Xeno Crisis is a genuine 16-bit throwback for those who enjoy a challenge, with superb pixel art and a blistering soundtrack.

Final Fantasy VII HD (Console & PC) – August 13
Relive the RPG that redefined gaming. The world has fallen under the dominion of the Shinra Electric Power Company, a sinister corporation that has monopolized the planet’s very life force as Mako energy. Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra’s elite Soldier unit, now turned mercenary, lends his aid to the rebels, unaware that he will be drawn into an epic battle for the fate of the planet, while having to come to terms with his own lost past.

Microsoft has announced more titles coming to Xbox Game Pass this month.

Additional titles coming to Xbox Game Pass in October have been announced, and starting this week you will be able to download and play Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition on PC.

The game arrives on October 15 alongside Heave Ho, Katana Zero, Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition, and The Swords of Ditto: Mormo’s Curse.

In Heave Ho, coming to PC, you and up to four players will be tasked with not falling to your death. You will be using your hands and the outstretched limbs of your pals to make your way through each level.

Katana Zero is coming to Andriod, PC, and Xbox One, and is an action-platformer featuring “breakneck action and instant-death combat.” You will slash and dash your way through levels and manipulate time to unravel your past. Each level is designed to be completed in various ways as you strive to defeat your enemies.

Those with Game Pass on PC will be able to play The Swords of Ditto: Mormo’s Curse, which is an action-RPG featuring a “unique adventure” for each hero tasked with fighting Mormo. You will brave dungeons as your quest leads you to try and overcome the evil that plagues the island. The game also features co-op.

On October 21, ScourgeBringer arrives on the service for console. Developed by the team who brought you NeuroVoider, this rogue-lite platformer is set in a post-apocalyptic world where an entity has “wreaked havoc on all humanity.” As a warrior named Kyhra, you will slash your way through ancient machines guarding the seal of her past, and “maybe the redemption of humanity.”

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege will be added to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service later this week, Microsoft has revealed.

Microsoft has officially confirmed that Ubisoft’s multiplayer shooter will be arriving on Xbox Game Pass on October 22.

This highly competitive game, which has a thriving esports scene, is set to arrive on the subscription service next week – and it’ll be playable on both Xbox One and Android when it lands… though trying to stay alive and operate on a level playing field on your phone may not be the smartest idea in the world.

If you choose to download the game via Xbox Game Pass, you will be able to get 10% off all in-game items. This includes the Year 5 pass – an add-on you can purchase to unlock new operators, get renown boosts, and more besides.

It appears that the version of the game you’ll be playing if you download the title via Xbox Game Pass will be the Standard Edition. As such, you’ll need to unlock Legacy Operators with in-game currency.

000032916_engb_Y5Grid-600x340.png

Rainbow Six Siege is due to get a free upgrade to next-gen consoles at some point in 2020: this update will add support for 4K resolution at 120FPS to the game. Whether Siege remains available on Xbox Game Pass until then remains to be seen.
