Carry On Films

Watched some Carry On films yesterday still funny now. I couldn't imagine them being made today without a furore

Although Carry On Camping probably stands out the most, in no particular order, my top 5 would be:

Carry On Doctor
Carry On Nurse
Carry On Matron
Carry On Cabby
Carry On Constable

No room for Carry On Cleo, Carry On Up the Khyber and Carry On Screaming Son Of Jack?

I quite like Carry On At Your Convenience but it was the beginning of the end by that time.

My top 5 Carry on films.

2. Carry on Cleo
3. Carry on Up The Khyber
4. Carry on Camping
5. Carry on Cowboy

Up the Khyber was funny

A product of their time, better times in some respects and worse in others.

I do agree, as were most, but the ones based domestically were in a class of their own.

Never fails to make me laugh.

A nice piece of cinema history that absolutely shouldn't be edited to suit modern audiences.

It was harmless fun. (Remember that?)

I've never watched a Carry On film and thought it was racist or misogynistic.

In fact, the ladies get the upper hand in a lot of them, if anything the male characters are being laughed at, not with.

Very much of its time in many ways, and that's not such a bad thing. It's nice to look back.

I remember them with a certain fondness.

Carry On Up the Khyber on ITV 3 now. The dinner party scene is still one of the funniest things on film to this day.
