What’s your favourite kind of holiday: city break, beach, or countryside?

[TOTD Guy]

From a busy weekend away to a proper lie-in by the sea, everyone has a holiday style that suits them best. What's yours, and why do you love it?

I voted Beach holiday in the poll "What's your favourite kind of holiday: city break, beach, or countryside?".

I think it depends on what you want from the holiday. Whether you want to explore or escape. Most of the time I'm looking for relaxation and escapism, so I voted beach holiday, heading for the sand is what I consider a perfect form of self-care.

Couldn't agree more.

Definitely a beach holiday. I basically want to relax and do something I cannot do in Scotland, so great weather and a beautiful beach complex is the ideal escapism.

We only ever go on beach holidays, usually to Turkey or Greece. I agree with what others have said about relaxing and escaping from your usual environment.

I voted City break in the poll "What's your favourite kind of holiday: city break, beach, or countryside?".

I'm more of a city, culture, heritage type than one who wants to lie on a beach all day. I like to explore the history of a place, then spend a few hours relaxing by the pool rather than topping up my tan on the beach.

I voted Countryside escape in the poll "What's your favourite kind of holiday: city break, beach, or countryside?".

Really a toss-up between countryside and staycation. I like nothing better than being outside, usually hiking, and enjoying nature. Scotland has some of the best locations and terrain but it is also nice to visit other countries and sample their customs and landscapes.
