Cocaine Bear (2023) Movie Thread

Loosely based on the true story of a bear that overdosed on 30KG+ of cocaine from a plane that crash-landed in Georgia, US. In this story, however, the bear survives and goes on a drug-fuelled rampage.

Directed by Elizabeth Banks and featuring Keri Russell, Alden Ehrenreich, O'Shea Jackson Jr, Margo Martindale, and Ray Liotta - this is the last film he completed before his death.

Very loosely "based", a bear was found dead that OD'd on cocaine, that's the extent of the true story.

Saw it last night. It's total slapstick nonsense but it's highly entertaining and self-aware. It is more or less a full-blown comedy.

I've never been so disappointed by a film. It was boring AF.

I remember talking to a friend a while ago about advertisers lying to people to trick them into seeing Barbie. They were talking nonsense but I kept thinking about that when watching Cocaine Bear. That trailer promised so much, I'd have been really mad if it'd paid to see it in the cinema off the back of the trailer.
