Longlegs (2024) Movie Thread

FBI Agent Lee Harker is assigned to an unsolved serial killer case that takes an unexpected turn, revealing evidence of the occult. Harker discovers a personal connection to the killer and must stop him before he strikes again.

Early reviews predicted that this would be the best film of its genre since Silence of the Lambs. Reviews now coming out and it's scoring perfect ratings.

Looks good, though they really should've shortened the trailer.

Osgood Perkins, the director, is very talented (and son of Anthony Perkins , who played Norman Bates in Psycho) so had wondered if the might be his breakout hit. His films have always had a fabulously foreboding, creepy ass vibe without being full on horror but hadn't broken out yet.

Also great to see Maika Monroe continue her career as the predominant Scream Queen.

This was great. Very creepy and very good acting on display.

Very good movie. Great acting and cinematography, can tell thought was put into every shot though I think Nicolas Cage is miscast here.

The last quarter let it down a little too, the ending was poor. Still enjoyed it though.

It was ok. Not as good as the hype suggested. I found it more of a thriller than a straight horror and only slightly creepy rather than outright scary.

Really really disappointing. First hour or so was kind of building up to something decent, but it's just a mess in the end. And not the fun, endearing kind of mess. What a letdown!

Monroe and Cage were both very good however, and the atmosphere was pretty creepy until it became a bit of a caricature.

I liked the ending. I kind of expected it pretty early in the film to be honest, or something close at least.

I dont think hype will do it any favours. It's just a decent watch.

Felt the first half of the film with the build up, tension etc. was great but then the second half (mainly part 3) was a bit of a let down. Like they almost rushed the ending.
