Alien.
Aliens is an amazing roller coaster, especially the extended cut, but its focus is on action and fighting. Alien is a near-perfect horror film, with its pacing, settings, cinematography, acting, and direction all top-notch.

Alien is the best in terms of horror, Aliens has more action. I tend to think Alien is the better film, and I don't think anything in the genre has come close to it since its release in 1979.
Of the other films, Romulus was the only one I enjoyed. I haven't watched any of the crossover ones.

Aliens is a bona fide sci-fi classic and had such a huge influence outside of the movie theatre. Video games were massively influenced by it.
Alien is still an incredible film. He was creating the blueprint. Everything from costumes to ship design, everything was great.
