Japan's longest-serving prime minister, Shinzo Abe, has died after being shot while giving a campaign speech, shocking a country where gun violence is very rare.

Shocked when I heard this. Japan is probably the last country I would think when thinking of something like this happening.

Crazy and so sad. Didn't know a whole lot about him, but it was my impression, that he was widely respected in both Japan and in the international community.
