Friends Star Matthew Perry Dies Aged 54 TV Chat

Matthew Perry, beloved actor and star of 'Friends', has passed away at the age of 54.

Perry reportedly drowned at his apartment this Saturday evening.

TMZ reported, citing law enforcement sources. The outlet reported that Perry was found in a jacuzzi at the home, and law enforces were called to the scene for cardiac arrest.

A real shame. He always looked troubled, even on the Friends Reunion show that they did. Awful news.

Woke up to this news. what a shock. Knew he had his troubles and demons but still - such a bloody shame.

I must admit that I was never a fan of Friends and have never seen more than a handful of episodes but there is no doubting the cultural significance of the show.

However, I did think he was excellent in The West Wing and the short-lived Studio 60.

Sad to hear. Growing up in the 90's, Friends was a fixture of Monday nights on tv. Many of us were still in 3 channel land.

Saw a bit about Perry last year when his book came out and watched a few of his stage and tv interviews. He came across as very sharp and a natural comic. He seemed like he could ad lib Chandler without an issue.

He spoke at length in those interviews about his drug and alcohol addictions and it was insane. I remember thinking it's a miracle he's alive at all, with the quantity of stuff he's put into his system.

Very, very sad to hear. He obviously had issues but was a massive talent in one of the most successful tv shows of all time.
