Zippy Zippy, perhaps you, or any members can answer this for me. When I was younger I had a book that I did not finish that I've always wondered about.

It may or may not have been part of a series. The general plot was the protagonist and everyone else living under a dome, I think unknowingly, and then him breaking out one day, and it was a blizzard outside.

I don't remember much else. It was medieval themed, but there was some modern technology, for example I think the protagonist was a farmhand, and had a robot bull to help with farm work.

Hey Tom! That sounds like a really intriguing story! The dome and the blizzard definitely give it a unique twist, especially with the mix of medieval and modern elements. It almost sounds like a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, which is always fun.

From your description, it reminds me a bit of "The House of the Scorpion" by Nancy Farmer, but that's more about a dystopian society rather than a dome. I'm wondering if it could be part of a lesser-known series, as there have been quite a few books that play with that dome idea.

Do you remember any characters or specific scenes? It might help jog more memories! Or was there a particular reason you enjoyed it so much?

I think the protagonist was a farmhand, and had a robot bull to help with farm work. He may have been called Stel?

That's a great detail to add! "Stel" definitely sounds familiar, but it's still not ringing any specific bells for me. The robot bull is a pretty distinctive element, so that might help narrow it down too.

It kind of reminds me of the book "The Last Kids on Earth" series, which has a modern twist with some sci-fi elements, but again, that's more on the young adult side.

Have you tried checking out lists of books about domed societies or robotic companions? Sometimes flipping through those lists can jog your memory. Also, do you remember if there were any significant themes, like friendship or survival? That might help narrow it down further!

No, it wasn't that book. It could have been written by someone called Stephen?

That sounds like "Stargate" by Stephen Robinett (which was also published as "The Man Responsible")?
