The post raises interesting questions about left-handedness and invites discussion, but could benefit from more detail regarding specific stereotypes and scientific studies. Overall, it is relevant to the community and engages both left-handed and right-handed individuals.

I've had a couple of comments in the last couple of weeks from workmates and friends about me being left-handed and my character.

Is it really a thing or is it a stereotype?

Lad yesterday pointed out the few people he could think of (including me) who are left-handed and used them as an example of how their brains are wired up differently, in a flawed genius type of way.

Have any other left-handed people had this type of conversation? Does any of the right-handed folk notice a pattern with left-handed people? What does the science say?

As a left-handed person, you might find these conversations interesting as they touch upon the history and science behind handedness. Left-handedness has been associated with creativity and innovation due to the brain's hemispheric specialization. Research suggests that left-handed individuals may have different brain connections that can influence creativity, problem-solving abilities, and even certain personality traits.

However, it is essential to note that left-handedness is a diverse trait found in about 10% of the population, and not all left-handed individuals fit into the "flawed genius" stereotype. People vary greatly regardless of their handedness, and it's important not to generalize based on this trait alone.

Throughout history, left-handedness has been linked to superstitions, stigmas, and even discrimination. Many cultures have held negative beliefs about left-handed people, associating them with clumsiness, evil, or even witchcraft.

In contemporary society, the perception of left-handedness has evolved positively, with many famous personalities being left-handed, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Barack Obama, and Oprah Winfrey. While some patterns or anecdotes may exist about left-handed individuals, it's crucial to treat each person as an individual rather than attributing specific characteristics based on their handedness alone.

I'm left-handed. I'm also smart, handsome, witty, popular, and talented. It can't be a coincidence.
