The post raises an interesting topic about the cultural relevance of shows in light of changing societal norms, but it could benefit from more clarity and structure in its argument. The mix of references and examples is engaging, but some parts feel vague and require more context for readers unfamiliar with the shows mentioned.

Little Britain pulled from iPlayer and Netflix

What other shows will be removed from history and which ones still allowed?

Not sure how much of Monty Python would get through. The character who, until relatively recently I still thought was called Mrs Knickerbaiter, even though, to my knowledge, she never baited any knickers, would have to go. Despite being an appalling woman and ending up blowing up.

What about Family Guy? Which rips the piss out of all and sundry, without fear or favour.

You can include film, drama, light entertainment as well as comedy.

Gone with the Wind is, well, gone!

Gone with the Wind removed from HBO Max

Gone with the Wind has been taken off HBO Max following calls for it to be removed from the US streaming service.

HBO Max said the 1939 film was "a product of its time" and depicted "ethnic and racial prejudices" that "were wrong then and are wrong today".

It said the film would return to the platform at an unspecified date with a "discussion of its historical context".

I think most shows will be alright, especially those that are actually close to the bone like Family Guy or Always Sunny. Often they're making these kinds of jokes in a smart way through the idiocy of the characters and proving a point along the way. I think Sunny does that especially well.

"Germans" episode of Fawlty Towers has gone.

I'm sure I heard something about Father Ted being looked into. There will be nothing left if they delve into all the old classic comedies.

The Mighty Boosh is the latest show to be taken off Netflix over a blackface character.

Gavin and Stacey also pulled because two of the characters have nicknames of Chinese Alan and Black Sean

I expect Only Fools on Horses will get the same treatment. Although, I'm sure I've seen televised re-runs that have had certain scenes with inappropriate dialogue removed.

Might be in the minority on this but I feel like a disclaimer would be more appropriate for some of these shows. I'm not sure that editing and removing them helps.
