How come he never gets linked with any decent jobs? Surely he's the modern-day Sam Allardyce. He has done an exceptional job at Burnley with relatively no money (in terms of today's football finances)?

He's done a phenomenal job and is one of the best around in the country. There are a few clubs that should be moving heaven and earth to bring him in.

There's probably a few reasons why he is rarely mentioned
  • he's won nothing
  • he's never handled top international players
  • most people have a thought process where Burnley play dull football where the aim is to hit Chris Woods head
  • he never played for any top clubs in his playing career so won't get a look in like Solskjaer or Lampard
  • he has a Premiership relegation on his CV and unfortunately
I think he has taken Burnley as far as they can go. Personally, I think he's a decent manager and should be considered for the England job.

I could be totally wrong, but I have a feeling he's one of those managers who is perfect for the job they have. It's possible he feels the same.

Some of it is out-and-out snobbery - particularly from the media.

I also think he's got a reputation for 'saying it like it is'. In other words he's not a 'Yes' man and for some chairman that is a risk. A good manager is what they're all after, but the back-up plan is an unproven manager with potential that will also play scapegoat should the worst happen.

There's a bit of Cloughie about Dyche.

Every year Burnley are in the PL and competing is a testament to his ability as a manager. Their budget and revenue/potential is tiny but they operate it so well and with him at the helm leading it, they'll keep going.

Seriously underrated manager.
