The UK will be treated to its fullest solar eclipse since 1999 - and the best the country will see for the next 50 years - on Wednesday evening.

It will be visible across the whole of the UK, with up to 96% of the Sun's disc covered by the Moon, depending on your location.

Other parts of the world will get to witness a total eclipse. This includes northern Spain, where hundreds of thousands of people have travelled for the astronomical spectacle.

It's weird I don't remember much at all from my childhood, but I remember being in Blackpool at the South Pier when the last full solar eclipse happened.

That's the time I usually take the dog for a stroll. Hopefully we see something, it's quite cloudy today.

Has anyone told the moon that it's meant to be making an appearance here, or what?

Has anything happened yet?

Got slightly excited there, then realised it's a cloud.

Sadly, I don't think we will see anything.

Glad it wasn't just me that ended up disappointed about the whole thing...

Admittedly I didn't bother watching it as I didn't have any special glasses, but still - it hardly even went dark here.. it was just as though we had two sunsets in the same evening.
