Stowaway (2021) Movie Thread

Decent cast, and an interesting - if probably belief-suspending - premise, where someone accidentally winds up on a mission to Mars, with life-support not capable of sustaining four people.

It's very good if a little simple. It's very bare bones - be warned. And yeah, the very initial premise is a little hard to believe but once you come to terms with that, you'll be grand.

Avoids a lot of the pitfalls that other movies would have gleefully dived into which is refreshing.

Pretty good space tale. Has some very clunky plot devices and a few glaring plot holes but get over them and it will please most fans of the genre.

Haven't watched it yet, but rocketry and space travel Youtuber Scott Manley was a consultant on the project and did a video on it that I watched. Impressed that they actually bothered to try and get the science/technology right by consulting with Scott and others.

Agree 100% with this. Some nice character type driven moments along the way too, which are well written.

I feel like a big part of whether you enjoy Stowaway is whether you can accept not getting a clear answer as to how and why the stowaway ends up on board. That's not the story the film is interested in - the story being told is how the characters respond to the situation.
