Topic of the Day: Foreign Languages General Chat

I've always been fascinated by languages - not just how they're spoken, but how they shape thought and culture. Personally, I speak English (native), French (pretty fluent), and a little bit of Japanese, though I'm very rusty.

How about you? How many languages do you speak? Are there any you'd love to learn, even if just for fun or travel?

Just two, English and French. I would like to learn more, mainly Spanish and Italian, it can be quite embarrassing travelling to a foreign country and they can speak almost perfect English, and we can't string a sentence together in their native tongue.

I can speak German fluently and can get by with some basic French and Spanish.

I know some French and Italian, but most other countries can speak English.
