The Dig (2021) Movie Thread

Decided to give this a whirl last night to see if it lived up to the hype - it did.

Thought it very well made. I really liked the setting and it is beautifully shot. The story itself wasn't very fast moving but I appreciate that it was based on real events so I don't hold it against the film and I thought it is supported by solid performances - especially Carey Mulligan who I wouldn't be a big fan of. If you don't mind the slow pace, definitely recommended.

In 1938, they excavated three mounds in Suffolk, England. They discovered the remains of an Anglo-Saxon funerary ship and a huge cache of seventh-century royal treasure.

It's a well made, gentle film. Won't be to everyone's taste but I enjoyed it.
