I was watching Trainspotting for the umpteenth time and I've always considered the opening scene to be one of the best.

Alien. More subtle but the tension is palpable. The computer headpiece turning on always catches me off guard.

Welp, no one else has posted this one so I get to. In 1977, a 12 year-old me sat in a darkened theater and got his mind truly blown by this opening. S-F movies have never been the same since. Obviously doesn't have the same impact on a small screen but the image of the Star Destroyer entering and filling the screen really set the tone for the original Star Wars, long before it became a multimillion dollar franchise.
