The post provides important updates regarding King Charles' health but lacks detail and context that would enhance understanding. Including more background or implications of the diagnosis would improve its value to the community.

Not much details, just breaking news at 6pm

Charles has started a schedule of treatments after a diagnosis made recently when he was treated for a benign enlarged prostate

The king has been diagnosed with cancer, Buckingham Palace has announced.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: "During the king's recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.

"His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.

"Throughout this period, his majesty will continue to undertake state business and official paperwork as usual.

"The king is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.

"His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer."

Buckingham Palace was not releasing any further details at this stage.

It is understood that the diagnosis is not of prostate cancer, as some might have incorrectly assumed in light of his separate diagnosis of benign prostate enlargement.

Bloody hell. I wish him well.

Irrespective of whether he will get the best treatment or not and whether you support the royals or not I think we can all agree - fuck cancer!

Horrible disease. I'm no Royalist but hope he beats it and quickly.

Hopefully he makes a full recovery.

It's worrying they felt the need to announce it, if it was minor I doubt they'd have bothered.

I despise even saying the word cancer. It's such a horrible disease, I've lost two of the people closest to me to this disease and wish everyone who is going through it or knows someone who is going through it best wishes and the strength to come through it.

No detail in the news realease makes me fear the worst, but so hope I'm wrong. Truly horrible disease.

Hopefully early stages and treatable.

I wouldn't wish any type of cancer on anyone. It's a horrible disease.

They've always been elusive in describing Royal's health. The fact Harry has come over seems more telling than anything else.

Hopefully he makes a fully and speedy recovery.

The Palace have said it's unrelated to his recent treatment. Hopefully they do say what it is, these high profile diagnoses often spur everyone else on to get checked out.
