Apparently, an attempted attack occurred during the White House Correspondents' Dinner at the Washington Hilton on Saturday, resulting in the immediate evacuation of the President and First Lady.

A 30-year-old suspect from LA is in custody. One Secret Service agent was shot in the Kevlar vest and taken to hospital.

Republicans are already out in force, blaming crazy liberals for shutting down the government and effectively shutting down the Department of Homeland Security.

It's too early to say, but things don't deem to be adding up at a time when Trump is underwater across the board on everything and on a day Jack Smith testified in public that his investigation found evidence beyond reasonable doubt that amongst other things Trump lied and interfered in the 2020 election, was responsible for January 6th, tried to coerce Vice President Vance and State Election officials to refuse to ratify or even falsify election results.

Trump was quickly back at the White House and gave a statement after reportedly demanding not to leave and wanting the event to continue.

What I hate most is the fact that I'm questioning everything and find it easier to believe this is another staged diversion for Trump to change the narrative and regain support. Given the security at this event, that version of events seems more believable, especially after a week where it's reported many MAGA voters have serious concerns over the Butler assassination attempt.

If it is genuine, then it's a massive feck up of epic proportions and brings serious questions about the protection of the most important man in the US, even the world.

Call me cynical, but I'm not buying it. Something seems off.

He's definitely pushing the ballroom agenda, but this one may have been a genuine attempt - at least an attack of some sort.

Apparently, a manifesto by the alleged attacker, saying he was targetting Trump officials.

Trump is such an unprecedented figure!. Has made the presidency a disaster but '"box office. It's difficult to see how the US ever recovers properly after his term of office. He will be even more unpredictable and dangerous following this episode.

Donald Trump threatened to pull troops out of more European countries in a fresh blow to NATO. It comes after he made a similar threat to withdraw from Germany.

On his Truth Social website on Wednesday, Trump wrote that the US was reviewing possible troop reductions in Germany, with a "determination" to be made soon.

And today he lashed out at Chancellor Friedrich Merz, telling Germany's leader he should "spend more time on ending the war with Russia / Ukraine " and "fixing his broken Country" than concerning himself with Iran.

Merz said in comments this week that the US was being "humiliated" by Tehran in negotiations to end the Iran war.

And today, Trump was asked if he was also thinking about pulling troops out of Italy and Spain, in retaliation for their reluctance to get involved with the Iran war.

"Yeah, probably," he said. "Why shouldn't I? Italy has not been of any help to us, and Spain has been horrible."

American allies in NATO have braced for a US troop withdrawal since just after the Trump administration took office, with Washington warning Europe would have to look after its own security, and that of Ukraine, in the future.

I mean, what the actual fuck?

:ROFLMAO:

He's like a bad comedian. It's wild that this is the sort of shit the President of the United States is concerned about.

They've just announced that they are pulling 5000 troops out of Germany. Europe should grow a backbone and tell them to remove them from all countries. Teach the petulant child a lesson.

The irony of him saying anyone else has "gone absolutely CRAZY!!!" is breath taking.

Putting aside the hypothetical nonsense, he really is persisting in calling Democrats - "Dumacrats"!?

Presumably therefore it would be acceptable to starting calling Republicans - "Rapepublicans", given their tendency to protect the rapists?
