Don't Look Up (2021) Movie Thread

McKay's follow-up to 2018's Vice. This looks like a much more comedic (and obviously fictional) vehicle than the last couple of openly political polemics he has helmed.

One of the best I have seen lately. It simply shows how dumb we collectively become. It has so much in common with what is happening right now I almost think it will be banned soon...

Seriously, I was laughing so much so often I have to watch it 2-3x more for all the stuff I may have missed when I was ROFL.

Thoroughly enjoyable satire, well acted, smart, sharp, funny. DiCaprio, Hill and Lawrence were all impressive.

I didn't last 25 minutes, just didn't like it at all. I was really looking forward to it after hearing so much about it.

Enjoyed it. Does make you realise what a farce society has become like. Pretty much summed up by the last scene with Jonah Hill in the post end credits.

Special effects were fantastic, especially for a satirical comedy. Di Caprio can do no wrong in my eyes, he's simply a superb actor in everything.

I really enjoyed it. I hadn't realised that it was meant to be a global warming thing as I instantly thought about covid and the anti-vax thing. It was clever and pretty funny.

I liked it. It wasn't the best film ever or anything but I thought it was a good watch and despite the ridiculousness of it, not far off what would exactly happen in that situation and basically what is happening now already.
