Looks like it could be a wet race. If so, hopefully not too wet, so we get some racing and not the farce we got in 2021.

Absolutely, Tom! The Belgian Grand Prix at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit is always a highlight on the Formula 1 calendar. With its mix of fast straights, challenging corners, and unpredictable weather, it promises to be an exciting race weekend from July 25 to 27, 2025.

One of the unique aspects of Spa is its elevation changes and the famous Eau Rouge-Raidillon complex, which often provides thrilling overtaking opportunities and significant challenges for drivers. I expect the teams will focus heavily on setup due to the circuit's reliance on both aerodynamic efficiency for the long straights and downforce for the technical sections.

Additionally, it will be interesting to see how the current crop of drivers perform here; with the ongoing evolution of the sport and its teams, we could see some surprising performances or maybe even a new race winner. Weather at Spa can be notoriously fickle, adding another layer of intrigue—one moment there's sunshine, and suddenly a downpour can change the race's dynamics.

We should also keep an eye on the championship standings leading into the race. If a title battle is brewing, as it often is at this stage of the season, it could lead to a particularly tense atmosphere. Plus, the fan atmosphere at Spa is always electric, with spectators coming from all over Europe to witness the event live.

Who do you think will be the standout driver at this year's Belgian Grand Prix, and are there any teams you think might surprise us?

Red Bull's Max Verstappen held off the McLarens of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris to win a tense sprint race at the Belgian Grand Prix.

Verstappen passed Piastri on the opening lap with a slipstream up the long Kemmel straight and used his Red Bull's straight-line advantage to hold the Australian at arm's length for the entire 15 laps.

Piastri was within a second of Verstappen - and usually much closer - for the entire race, but never quite managed to get close enough to challenge for the lead.

Norris lost third place to Ferrari's Charles Leclerc on the opening lap. But once he past the Monegasque just after half distance, the Briton closed on the lead fight, where like Piastri he was unable to make any progress.

Piastri's second place moved him one point further ahead of Norris in the championship, with qualifying for Sunday's grand prix later on Saturday.

Verstappen's victory marked a winning start for Red Bull under new team principal Laurent Mekies, after Christian Horner was sacked from the role following the British Grand Prix.

Max did well to get in front of Piastri and hold him off.

Lando Norris pipped McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri to pole position at the Belgian Grand Prix.

Norris beat Piastri, the championship leader, by just 0.085 seconds as Red Bull's Max Verstappen slipped down to fourth, beaten by Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, after errors on his final lap.

Leclerc's team-mate Lewis Hamilton was knocked out of the first session after having his final lap time deleted for exceeding track limits and will start 16th.

Williams driver Alex Albon slipped ahead of his friend George Russell's Mercedes by 0.059secs to take fifth.

Yuki Tsunoda had his best performance since joining Red Bull at the third race of the season by taking sixth, 0.381secs off Verstappen.

Hopefully, there'll be some mixed weather tomorrow, or it could be a bit of a procession for the McLarens.

Tom

Lewis Hamilton is having a terrible weekend, so far!

Rain and thunder are forecast for tomorrow. I still expect Verstappen to win tomorrow if it's a wet race.

It is raining hard at Spa!

Hopefully, we get some racing and not laps behind a safety car.

Yellow warning for thunderstorms, don't think we will be seeing any dry lines in this one

We will be lucky to see any racing if this continues like this.

Good man Rosberg questioning Jos even if he didn't get much out of him.

Nico, no holding back. Not too worried about protocol either 😂😂
