Some talk now that this will debut on Disney+ as well as get a cinema release.

Feels like this film is coming out about 5 years too late; and just on a personal level I find it hard to invest myself in stories after I've seen the character die. Prefer to just move on than wedge in prequels.

I'd like to see a 'proper' stripped down MCU film, on a par with Agents of SHIELD (pre budget slashing); a spy thriller with only some MCU elements on the fringe of the story. The MCU has kinda shot itself way past the point of 'realism', but a Black Widow film shunted back into the Winter Soldier / Iron Man 1 levels of tech-fantasy would be nice.

I don't necessarily mind physics ain't the MCUs strong point, especially when it involves the superpowered characters, but BW skydiving and leaping about like Spider-Man is annoying lol. The rest looks fine, MCU-does-Bourne. Not a fan of these prequels after a character is known to be dead in the "now" of the timeline though, just feels doubly redundant.

I think I'm more looking forward to this film being released so it's finally out of the way rather than looking forward to seeing it.

Same. Too much water under the bridge for me to care about Black Widow's backstory at this stage. Feels redundant to the momentum of the MCU as well, after the Phase 4 promotions. I suspect this will tick the Captain America: Winter Soldier box in terms of style and tone.

The movie was great, it has a well-done comedy, and it's kinda touching because we know how she'll end up, and Florence Pugh was mesmerizing.

Certainly 5 years too late, but nevertheless I enjoy this

It was a good stand-alone movie and maybe worked better knowing she dies in Endgame.

Technically the film falls just after Civil War which works and would allow a sequel if they wanted, but the end credit scene may confuse people if they kept that in say in 3 years time as wouldn't be necessary.

Overall average. Some good bits, a few fun set pieces, some tenuous stuff and a bit too safe and by the books in general. Doubt I'll be rewatching this very much.

Thought it was one of the better titular-character Marvel movies actually. Great performances, few genuine laughs, not quite as stale as I expected, decent action. I wasn't overly interested in seeing it but now that I have, it's easy to recommend.

Definitely preferred this by a wide margin over the likes of Black Panther or Captain Marvel.
