Just received an email from them to say they're no longer charging for the HD element, which I think is currently a fiver so youll get full HD with a standard subscription. I get that Amazon aren't that popular on here but that's over 70 million songs in HD or UHD and imo the difference is noticeable for you audiophiles.

Always been a range of quality ever since MP3 was created. The amount of data per second that you encoded did make a difference.
Then they created lossless codecs that kepts the original quality but still reduced the overall size. This is, what I expect, is what they're calling "HD" audio
