The post provides clear and detailed insights into two football teams, making it valuable for community members looking for managerial options in Football Manager. However, it could benefit from formatting improvements and a more comprehensive list of teams.

Some teams have bottomless pits of wealth, while others will require you to build around the talent you have and make savvy moves in the transfer market.

Whatever you're looking for, this list has you covered.

1 – Newcastle

Transfer budget = £200 million
Wage budget = £600k/week
Difficult rating = 1/5

Newcastle already have a few building blocks in Joe Willock, Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson to base your team around while you spend millions replenishing the squad. Newcastle also have two five-star rated youngsters in Santiago Munoz and Elliot Anderson worth developing in the future. As the richest club in world football, their finances are simply unmatched in FM22.

Top tip: Make sure you sign loanee Santiago Munoz permanently for the humble fee of just £2 million, as per his loan agreeement. His stats are raw but there won't be many five-star rated wonderkids you can easily sign for £2 million.

2 – Barcelona

Transfer budget = £0
Wage budget = £51.32k/week
Difficult rating = 1/5

Even without Lionel Messi, Barcelona are still in healthy shape in FM22. They have three players with five-star potential — Alejandro Balde, Sergino Dest and Yusuf Demir — and a selection of four-and-a-half-star potential starlets that includes Pedri, Ansu Fati and Eric Garcia. That is seven promising youngsters to develop. In the here and now, Frenkie de Jong and Marc-Andre ter Stegen are two of the best at their positions. No transfer budget stings, but with the right sales, all of that can change quickly.

Top tip: To create a transfer budget immediately, look to sell Riqui Puig, Samuel Umtiti, Martin Braithwaite or Oscar Mingueza. Once you've shifted one of those players, aim to make Demir's loan move permanent for a fee of £8.5 million.

3 – Zebre

Transfer budget = £16.24 million
Wage budget = £129k/week
Difficult rating = 1/5

The team not known as Juventus have Serie A's third-highest transfer budget and largest wage budget to go alongside a solid contingent of young players including Federico Chiesa, Manuel Locatelli, three five-star prospects in Dejan Kulusevski, Moise Kean and Matthijs de Ligt and a four-and-a-half-star starlet in Kaio Jorge. However, two of their best centre-backs (Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini) have a combined age of 70, two of their full-backs (Danilo and Alex Sandro) are at least 29 and the rest of the squad isn't as talented as it once was.

Top tip: Sign Paulo Dybala to a new contract or sell him as a matter of priority as his contract expires in 2022. To increase your transfer budget, aim to offload 33-year-old Juan Cuadrado, who could get you an extra £10-15 million right away.

4 – Red Bull Salzburg

Transfer budget = £17.1 million
Wage budget = £17.25k/week
Difficult rating = 1/5

The challenge with Salzburg is helping them contend for European trophies while keeping hold of the club's best players. Erling Haaland, Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu are among those the club inevitably had to sell recently. The headline talent this season is German international Karim Adeyemi, while there are also seven players with a value of at least £10 million, meaning you have plenty to work with from day one.

Top tip: Send out Maurits Kjaergaard on loan in season one, as his finishing stat of 8/20 overall is a little too raw for the Champions League but his five-star potential is worth developing.

5 – Fenerbahce

Transfer budget = £4.59 million
Wage budget = £0k/week
Difficult rating = 2/5

With no league title in seven years, Fenerbahce begin FM22 as favourites to end that run but will have to do so with an ageing squad bereft of talented youngsters. Twelve of their first-team squad are at least 27 years old and there are no players with five-star potential. With a limited transfer budget and already high wage budget, the trick here is building a younger side while remaining in the title hunt.

Top tip: You'll need to decide on Ferdi Kadioglu straight away, as his contract expires in 2022. He begins some game saves unwilling to renew his deal, so it may be better to cash in on him now or risk losing him for free.

6 – RB Leipzig

Transfer budget = £17.1 million
Wage budget = £82.21k/week
Difficult rating = 2/5

Leipzig's neverending conveyor belt of talent took a big hit this summer, as they sold three of their best players, two of which, Dayot Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer, were sold to rivals Bayern Munich. Working in your favour is the fact Leipzig have the Bundesliga's second-largest transfer budget, a decent striker in Andre Silva, Champions League football and a selection of five-star rated potential players that includes Ilaix Moriba, Mohamed Simakan, Josko Gvardiol, Dominik Szoboszlai and Brian Brobbey.

Top tip: If you want to raise more funds, look to sell Yussuf Poulsen (27 years old) and/or Emil Forsberg (29 years old) and replace them with younger replacements.

7 – Celtic

Transfer budget = £4.5 million
Wage budget = £25k/week
Difficult rating = 2/5

Celtic's run of nine successive league titles came to a crashing halt last season. To make matters worse, they sold two of their best players in Odsonne Edouard and Kristoffer Ajer and arguably have a weaker squad than they did last season. Still, with a decent transfer budget and a squad capable of winning the title in season one, things could be a lot worse.

Top tip: Involve Karamoko Dembele in the first team sooner rather than later. If you like his output, build around him, if you don't, play him enough to raise his value and sell him for a high fee.

8 – Fulham

Transfer budget = £2 million
Wage budget = £25k/week
Difficult rating = 2/5

Fancy taking charge of the promotion favourites in the Championship who also have plenty of room to improve in future? Look no further. Fabio Carvalho, Antonee Robinson, Tosin Adarbioyo, Rodrigo Muniz and Domingos Quina all start the game aged 23 or younger and should form the basis of what should be a straight-forward promotion mission. The difficulty will come in avoiding relegation once you do return to the Premier League.

Top tip: Build your team around Fabio Carvalho, a highly-rated winger on FM22 with five-star potential.

9 – Lille

Transfer budget = £14.53 million
Wage budget = £0k/week
Difficult rating = 3/5

PSG's transfer business is well documented, so the question becomes: can you help Lille retain their title and hold off the challenge posed by Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar? The reigning Ligue 1 champions have three players with five-star potential in Amadou Onana, Isaac Lihadji and Sven Botman, as well three youngsters with four-and-a-half-star potential.

Top tip: Eddy Ouattara and Eugenio Pizzuto are both highly rated but a little raw for a regular first-team role straight away, so loan them out to aid their development.

10 – Crystal Palace

Transfer budget = £1.8 million
Wage budget = £20k/week
Difficult rating = 3/5

Palace have the league's smallest transfer budget but one of the division's most exciting young squads in FM22. They also have 11 players on their books who earn at least £50,000 per week, so unless you can shift a few faces, managing the Eagles is very much a case of making do with what you have in your first season.

Top tip: Be careful with how you use Jean-Philippe Mateta because if you play him in 15 games, you will be obliged to sign him for £13.25 million.

11 – Schalke

Transfer budget = £0
Wage budget = £5k/week
Difficult rating =
3/5

Five coaches, three wins, one relegation. That was Schalke's season in 2020-21 as they dropped into Germany's second division. With a 60,000-capacity stadium, they are built for the highest ranks, but securing promotion won't be a stroll in the park. FM22's in-game media predict them to finish 15th, they have no transfer budget and most of your best players are out on loan elsewhere.

Top tip: Luca Podlech and Evan Rotundo are both 16 years old, have five-star potential and will see their contracts expire in 2023. Look to sign them both to new deals and integrate them into your first team.

12 – Roma

Transfer budget = £10.26 million
Wage budget = £60.12k/week
Difficult rating = 3/5

Roma have very few enticing youth prospects to build around. One of their best players, Leonardo Spinazzola, is out for six months and eight first-team players are aged 28 or older. On a lighter note, you have Tammy Abraham, a huge fanbase and the Europa Conference League to ensure all your players are kept happy with actual first-team minutes. But a title challenge will be a tall order in year one.

Top tip: To boost your transfer budget, sell Henrikh Mkhitaryan. To increase your wage budget, offload Federico Fazio, who earns £70,000 a week. Both of their contracts expire within one season.

13 – Watford

Transfer budget = £2 million
Wage budget = £30k/week
Difficult rating = 4/5

Watford possess a worrying concoction of reasons not to manage them, which makes them an enticing team to manage in Football Manager 2022. Favourites to get relegated, just one player with five-star potential (Joao Pedro), a small transfer budget and a squad with nine first-team players aged 30 or older, Watford find themselves in need of delicate management to become an established Premier League side.

Top tip: Prioritise the development of Jeremy Ngakia and Joao Pedro, two of Watford's best youth prospects on FM22.

14 – Borussia Monchengladbach

Transfer budget = £8.55 million
Wage budget = £84.37k/week
Difficult rating = 4/5

Whereas most of Bayern's other rivals have a distinguishable feature about them like a strong youth system or a star player to lean on, Gladbach find themselves in the territory of being good, not great. Their transfer budget is modest, there's no European football and the club have no highly-rated youngsters. But they're still a decent team to manage in FM22, one that over time could dethrone Bayern with the right additions.

Top tip: Seven players are out of contract in 2022. If you decided to cash in on some of them, you could raise an additional £20 million to spend on reinforcements.

15 – Morecambe

Transfer budget = £0
Wage budget = £600/week
Difficult rating = 4/5

Morecambe won promotion to League One for the first time in 2020-21 and they are favourites to go straight back down. If your glass is half full, despite those odds, they are just two good seasons away from reaching the Premier League. If you don't want to start from the very bottom but still want to build a smaller side from the ground up, Morecambe are an ideal choice.

Top tip: The club have no transfer budget so try to sign Manchester City's Samuel Edozie or Arsenal's Vontae Daley-Campbell on loan if you need a few zero-cost temporary additions.

David76 Rising Star

16 – Real San Sebastian

Transfer budget = £8.3 million
Wage budget = £26.4k/week
Difficult rating = 4/5

The La Liga title race is more open than usual. But that doesn't mean teams outside of Barcelona, Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid can easily waltz their way to the title. Still, the FM version of Real Sociedad are as well placed as any side outside of the big three to do the improbable. The club's two best youngsters are Alexander Isak, one of the best young strikers in last year's version of Football Manager, and Ander Barrenetxea, so build your team around those two moving forward.

Top tip: If you're not impressed with Adnan Januzaj, sell him immediately, as his contract expires in 2022. Another player in a similar predicament is Jon Guridi.

17 – Shamrock Rovers

Transfer budget = £64.21k
Wage budget = £1.28k/week
Difficult rating = 5/5

Shamrock Rovers are favourites to win the Irish Premier Division and get the chance to qualify for the Champions League, but your task will be building a squad capable of one day progressing in Europe while helping to grow the stature of the league itself.

Top tip: Look to sign former Premier League midfielder Joe Ledley on a free transfer as he would instantly become the club's No 1 option in Football Manager 2022.

18 – Parma

Transfer budget = £3.84 million
Wage budget = £33.85k/week
Difficult rating = 5/5

Serie B sides are not allowed to sign non-EU players from outside of Europe, so your transfer options are limited. Botond Balogh and Daan Dierckx are two centre-backs with four-and-a-half-star potential who can form the basis of your back four, while Franco Vazquez, Dennis Man and Italy legend Gianluigi Buffon round off a solid squad. But the journey to returning Parma as regulars in European competition may be long and painful.

Top tip: The left flank is the club's strongest area, with Valentin Mihaila (left wing) and Vasilis Zagaritis (left-back) both rated as having five-star potential, so use a tactic that emphasises building attacks from that side.

19 – Sutton United

Transfer budget = £5k
Wage budget = £1.2k/week
Difficult rating = 5/5

Sutton were promoted to the Football League for the first time last season. Their squad isn't the best in League Two and they have virtually no budget, so how far can you take them up the football pyramid?

Top tip: Here's a selection of some available free agents who could help right away: Rodel Richards, Reece Hutchinson and Danijel Pranjic.

20 – Derby

Transfer budget = £0
Wage budget = £0
Difficult rating = 5/5

No transfer budget, a points deduction and 17 players whose contracts will expire within one season. Welcome to Derby County's new reality. Rebuilding a team with very few sellable players and no financial support all while battling back against a 12-deduction. Enjoy.

Top tip: Despite the above, Derby still have five players who are rated as having five-star potential on their books in Louie Sibley, Max Bird, Kornell McDonald, Dylan Williams and Jason Knight. Resist the temptation to sell them, as they'll be extremely hard to replace early on.
