The post includes some game recommendations but lacks coherent organization and detail on each game. While the identified games are relevant, the presentation could be clearer and more engaging.

Aside from the usual suspects (Cluedo, Monopoly, Scrabble, Cards Against Humanity) - does anyone have any board or card game recommendations?

Board Games

Escape from Colditz

Colditz castle – world War II. An impregnable Fortress. An inescapable prison. Until now. Become Allied escape officers--assemble your equipment, plot your escape routes, and coordinate your efforts to avoid the guards. Become the German security officer--maintain control through guile, ruthlessness, and careful observation despite limited numbers. Seventy-five years ago, major Reid braved barbed wire, searchlights, and armed guards to escape from colditz. Now it's your turn to do the same!

Are you slow... or are you Rapidough? This is Rapidough, the team family board game of sculpting charades. Each turn the team's sculptors must model the entry on their card. The first team to guess correctly what their sculptor is creating wins the round. Guess too slow and you lose some dough!

Take over the world in this exciting game of military strategy, with a refreshed look that includes updated figures, compelling board art, and improved Mission cards. In the Risk game players set out to conquer their enemies' territories by building an army, moving in troops, and engaging in battle.

Card Games

Contract Rummy

Contract Rummy is a version of Rummy consisting of a series of rounds. In each round there is a different contract: players have to collect a particular combination of groups and sequences before they are allowed to meld. The contracts become progressively more demanding on each deal.
Note: We play a variation of this - but I cannot find this variation anywhere.. I can go in to further detail via PM if interested.

This is a simple draw and discard game, suitable for players of all ages. Players have a three card hand and the aim is to collect cards in a single suit worth 31 points or as near as possible to that total.

Shithead (Rules)

Shithead is a beating game in which the players try to avoid being the last to get rid of all their cards. The loser typically suffers some forfeit such as having to make the tea, or at least has the job of shuffling and dealing the next hand.

I've played a few games of Splendor (nice and quick engine-builder game). Great fun! However, 15 points seems to be quite easy to achieve in a 2 player game setup if you get the nobles so home rules are required.
