Charlie Kirk Shot Dead After Hours

Conservative activist Charlie Kirk has died after being shot at a campus event in Utah. Kirk - an influential ally of President Trump - was known for holding outdoor debates on campuses across the US.

Police are still looking for the attacker and are going "building to building" to evacuate people - a suspect was taken into custody but later released. Multiple sources say the shot was fired from an academic building around 100-200 yards away. Kirk's wife and two young children were on campus. One video, which briefly appeared on social media networks, showed Kirk, who was 31, being asked about mass shootings before the shot was fired.

This is really sad news. While I wouldn't agree with him politically, no matter what political opinions Charlie Kirk (RIP) advocated, he didn't deserve that brutal, violent death.

Not going to lie, I'd never heard of Charlie Kirk before this happened. He's definitely not someone I'd align myself with politically but no one deserves to be gunned down like that.

I had a quick look on social media this morning and it's an absolute cesspit of political hate. America is such a divided country now.

Murdering someone is downright despicable, no matter the reason, as is gun violence and culture in general. You don't have to like Charlie Kirk or even not think the world might be a better place without him and his ilk to think this.

His views weren't views I'd agree with, but it is horrific news. There has been a few murders of political figures in America lately.

This will only divide the country even further as the Right points its finger at the Left and vice versa.

It was horrific what happened to Kirk but the divisions in America will only grow as both sides paint themselves as victims and blame the rhetoric of the other.
