Coming 2 America (2021) Movie Thread

Not sure if I want to watch this or not. The original was good but everything I've read about this points to it being a flop.

Just watched it. It's basically the same as the original but less funny.

I loved the original, that and Trading Places were my go to films to cheer me up in the 90s.

I'm going to watch it but will I enjoy the nostalgia? Marvel at its originality? Will my kids (who haven't seen the original) find it funny at all?

Pretty poor, maybe it's rose tinted glasses but I thought the original was far better.

Best bit was Morgan Freeman. The singing and dancing pieces wore thin quickly.

Not completely terrible but not funny either.

Never been a big fan of Eddie Murphy (which probably puts me in a minority in my generation) but is this a movie that even needed a sequel? Seems like someone mining the lower depths for content here. A new Beverly Hills Cop is something even I could get behind, but not so much this.

I tried "Coming to America 2" on Wednesday night, I really tried. Couldn't get through more than 30 minutes.
