So when I first heard this, I didn't realize Keith Whitley had already done it so I didn't think of it as a cover. Of course, it has been covered many, many times since Alison Krauss had a hit with it and it last hit the charts in a cover by Ronan Keating a couple decades ago.

I think calling this a cover is a borderline case since Bruce co-wrote it with Patti Smith, though she recorded it first. I like this version, featuring both of them backed by U2.
