Summer Game Fest is over for another year! Geoff Keighley's annual summer showcase was packed with game reveals, new trailers, and fresh updates on upcoming titles. The two-hour livestream featured several heavy hitters, but perhaps the two biggest were Resident Evil: Veronica and Final Fantasy VII: Revelation, which opened and closed SGF, respectively.

Elsewhere, Tifa's addition to Street Fighter 6, the Stellar Blade sequel, and Guild Wars 3 caught the eye. Let's check out all the reveals.

Resident Evil Veronica

The first announcement at SGF is Resident Evil Veronica, a remake of Resident Evil: Veronica. It's due out in 2027! This one had been heavily rumoured, but it's finally officially out in the wild.

Cuphead sequel and Mighty Cuphead Adventure

Studio MDHR announced a Cuphead sequel! It's still in the early stages, so we don't know much about it, but we did learn a small team in the studio is working on something completely different, and we got a quick look at it: Mighty Cuphead Adventure! It's a new retro action-platformer shooter in an 8-bit style.

Alien: Isolation 2

Creative Assembly showed up at SGF to show a new trailer for Alien: Isolation 2, which looks terrifying indeed. Creative director Al Hope took to the stage to say the developers are creating a game all about escaping from the clutches of a xenomorph. The action is set on a station on a planet now, so you're not confined to a spaceship.

Blood Message

NetEase brought Blood Message to SGF. Check out the debut trailer below. It's a cinematic and narrative-driven linear action-adventure currently in development for PC and consoles. Set in the late Tang Dynasty in 848 AD, players take on the role of a nameless messenger who embarks on a perilous eastward journey to deliver a message that holds the fate of his homeland. The game's setting in the last years of the Tang Dynasty provides a cultural landmark of Chinese history that frames the story with customs, culture, and the rich history of the era, NetEase said.

Stranger Than Heaven

Yakuza developer RGG Studio brought a new trailer for its next game, Stranger Than Heaven, in what was perhaps the most random moment of SGF: confirmation that Tupac is in the game. Yes, Tupac Shakur. And we finally have a release date: January 15, 2027. Snoop Dogg, who is also in the game, appeared on-stage to talk about Tupac's surprise appearance in Stranger Than Heaven. Meanwhile, Snoop said Death Row Games is still alive, and we'll hear more about what it's working on soon.

It's due out in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

In Gundam Rogue Orbit, players will suit up as ace pilot RE-X, the protagonist in this new chapter for Gundam. Step into the cockpit of Gundam Helix, RE-X's high-mobility suit, so he, along with a rag-tag crew of unsung soldiers, can fight to be humanity's last hope for survival against this unknown enemy. Gundam Rogue Orbit will feature explosive, fast-paced battles set in sprawling environments, with players taking on enemy hordes, massive bosses, and seemingly insurmountable challenges, set against an engaging Sci-Fi backdrop. For Gundam fans, the title promises to deliver the emotionally charged moments and unforgettable action that have made the series one of the world's most beloved entertainment franchises while also introducing a thrilling new direction for Gundam.

CrossFire

Former Call of Duty developers revealed a new single-player story-driven CrossFire game, backed by Smilegate. It's got dynamic cover, which "fundamentally changes your relationship with the environment, and becomes an active skill you need to master." Bit of a surprise this one!

An alright show. Definitely a few that looked interesting like Resident Evil, Crossfire, Haex etc but nothing there that I can say I'm really excited for. Needed a few more big hitters, and I guess another Final Fantasy remake doesn't do much for me.
