Very much looking forward to this. The story in Gears 4 and 5 was alright but I'm excited to play this and have Marcus and Dom back together again.

Unlike its more action-oriented predecessors, E-Day aims to recapture the franchise's horror elements, promising a linear campaign that emphasises the tense atmosphere of survival. Furthermore, while details about multiplayer features remain sparse, indications suggest that it will support multiplayer gameplay.

As excitement builds for this first mainline entry since 2019's Gears 5, fans are eagerly awaiting more information, which is expected to surface during the January Developer Direct.

The E-Day Open Beta is officially live, allowing everyone to dive into the action before the game's full release in October.

Between August 6 and August 10, the Gears of War: E-Day Beta was available to players who preordered the game, as well as Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members. Later today, however, the test will open to everyone, giving them a chance to check out the game ahead of its October release.

The beta will run on PC and Xbox from August 13 at 12 PM PT / 7 PM UTC until August 17 at 10 AM PT / 5 PM UTC.

What are the Gears of War: E-Day Open Beta rewards?
During the test, you'll be able to play Horde Siege and PvP Versus modes. Moreover, by completing specific challenges, you can unlock the following items to use during the Gears of War: E-Day Open Beta and keep when the full game launches:
