The post presents a personal opinion but lacks depth and specific examples to bolster the argument. While it raises relevant points about the interview, it could be more structured and detailed to enhance clarity and value.

I find this whole interview with Oprah bizarre. I do think there is some truth in what has been alleged. Some of it echoes what Princess Diana said about the Royal family many times in interviews. I must admit I've no time for the Royal family but I have always "liked" William and Harry.

Sadly I think this is another doomed royal marriage. I feel sorry for Harry. Meghan, I think is calling all the shots and he is just following along. It sounds like they want nothing to do with the Royal family but still want all the benefits attached to being a member of the Royal family which is a complete contradiction. I would have more respect for them if they kept quiet and lived a normal life which is what they wanted but instead, Meghan is using the media at every opportunity.

It's all a very sad sight playing out before us. I think there are a lot of damaged people on all sides. By damaged, I mean harbouring unresolved psychological traumas from various past events in their lives. The result is what we are seeing today and a bloodthirsty press preying on these fragilities and stoking the fire.

I think Harry is definitely a very vulnerable human. That child who walked behind his mother's coffin is still there.

The monarchy will protect the monarchy, but they are taking the wrong approach here, it may cost them dearly in how they are perceived by the new generation of the public when the Queen passes.

Speaking as a strong republican in the former colonies, this crap is part of why I wish my country would follow India's example of scrapping the monarchy but staying in the Commonwealth. It is an embarrassment that our next head of state will come from a family that looks less and less like a monarchy and more and more like just another bunch of idiot celebrities. I have a certain fondness for Elizabeth II but would love to see the monarchy, at least in Canada, end with her.

I've no particular affinity to the Royal Family or Meghan and I'd say they can both take a share of the blame here but I do feel for Harry getting caught in the middle of this.

Even before he met her, you always felt Harry was like a little boy lost. I'm sure losing his mother in questionable circumstances at such a young age would have a huge effect on you.

A lot of what he's protecting Meghan and his family from is what his mother was subjected to but I dont think he sees anything wrong with some of his mother's behaviour and Meghan doing the same.

I hope, with the perceived shackles off him, that Harry gets the help he clearly needs and can move on with his life in whatever way he sees fit

I really don't see the point of this interview...

If you want a quiet life - then go live one!

I've no interest in the Royal family.

I think in the UK, the Queen is much more popular individually than the Royal family as an institution. There's probably going to be a big change in attitude towards the Monarchy once Charles takes over.

Only seen clips on the news, I'm not watching the full interview. I couldn't take it seriously after seeing Oprah's glasses!!

It wouldn't surprise me if their is racism within the Royal family though, to be honest. The country is filled with it atm. People also hear the word racism and immediately go on the defensive.

Looking at their history, including exploitation of empire, and closeness of the aristocracy to the Nazis - it would be surprising if there wasn't a degree of racism within an organisation like our Royals. Especially since no one has ever had the balls to call them out on it before, at least not seriously anyway.

Palace responds to the interview:
A palace statement on behalf of the Queen said: "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

"The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members."
Doesn't deny the comments were made, just that 'recollections may vary', which likely means they were made.
