Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024) Movie Thread

The first trailer for this has dropped. A couple of the writers and producers of the reboot trilogy have returned, which is good. No Andy Serkis involvement though, sadly.



I really enjoyed Dawn, Rise, and War so hopefully this maintains the same quality, although it still looks like it's another prequel to the events of the original Planet of the Apes. Hopefully that doesn't wear too thin just yet.

I enjoyed the first 3, one of the few franchises that has gotten better with each film. Glad they've continued the story rather than another reboot as was mooted over the past couple of years.

I rewatched them a little bit earlier this year, it's a really really good trilogy, doesn't get as much recognition as it deserves imo.

Planet of the Apes is the best blockbuster franchise of the past 10 years, IMO. This one looks equally as epic can't wait!

Saw this yesterday. Not bad although I prefer the previous 3 films. Noah just not as good a character as Caesar was in those films.

I have been looking forward to this, but I came away feeling a little deflated. Visually all well and good. Just felt more like a set-up for the next one.

Saw it at the weekend, cracking film. Far better than I expected. Very reminiscent of the original 1960s version, imo.
