The post is clear and engaging, providing relevant information about the upcoming State of Play event while encouraging community interaction. However, it could benefit from a bit more detail about the other games expected to be showcased.

Sony has announced a State of Play showcase scheduled for June 2nd at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm UK time / 11pm CEST.

What's on the Agenda?
In a post on PlayStation Blog, Sony said it will last for over 60 minutes, and include a new look at Insomniac's Wolverine game, as well as news and announcements for games coming to PS5.

"State of Play returns Tuesday, June 2 with more than 60 minutes of updates, announcements, and gameplay reveals from top studios around the world," Tim Turi, Content Communications Manager, Sony Interactive Entertainment, said.

Sony has promised more news and announcements related to upcoming PS5 titles, which is always great to hear. With so many games in the pipeline, it'll be interesting to see which titles get the spotlight.

State of Play arrives following price rises not just for PlayStation hardware, but for the cost of PlayStation Plus. Sony has blamed these price rises on "ongoing market conditions," but the reality is that PlayStation gaming has become more expensive. So, the pressure is on Sony to use the likes of State of Play to show customers the value of their PS5.

June 2's State of Play officially kicked off the summer showcase season in the world of video games. From a brand new God of War game to a fresh look at Marvel's Wolverine, here's everything that was shown in the stream as we got a sneak peek into the future of PlayStation.

God of War Laufey

The biggest reveal of this State of Play had to be a first look at Santa Monica Studio's God of War Laufey. This extended 20-minute gameplay sequence gave us our first look at Faye, Kratos' wife, in action, as she seemingly makes her way to the afterlife to face gods of different mythologies who aren't happy she's there.

Marvel's Wolverine

Opening the show was another good look at Marvel's Wolverine, as Insomniac showed us more of Logan in action. Unapologetically violent and drenched in blood, it's set to be a more linear action-adventure when compared to the studio's Spider-Man games, as was showcased in this chunk of gameplay, which also featured the X-Men's Jean Grey.

Until Dawn 2

Firesprite is making a sequel to Supermassive's Until Dawn and its going to be released in 2027. This one sees a group of ghosthunters visiting a tropical island, but it all looks to go wrong once a slasher killer-like figure turns up.

Stuntman Hollywood

Another unexpected, but completely welcome surprise was the revival of the Stuntman series. This one looks to be taking real-life movie and TV sequences from the likes of Back to the Future and Knight Rider into the action this time around.

Kemuri

We got our first look at the stylish Kemuri, a three-player action yokai hunting game coming in 2027. It's the first game from Unseen Games, the studio set up by Ikumi Nakamura.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

A new Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis trailer gave us a good look at Crystal Dynamics' remake of Lara Croft's first adventure. It's looking very nice, and, crucially, slick to control. Have you tried playing the original Tomb Raider recently? It's a nightmare. The release date is February 12, 2027.

Rayman Legends Retold

Rayman is back. Anyone who saw one of the multiple leaks over the past few days is who. We got a good look at gameplay from Rayman Legends Retold, as Ubisoft revisits its beloved platformer.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Capcom is looking to extend its winning streak with Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The latest trailer comes alongside a release date of September 25. A demo is also now available for the game.

Control Resonant

Control: Resonant continues to look amazing, with a story trailer that also announces a September 24 release. September is suddenly starting to look very busy…

Phantom Blade Zero

We got another small look at Phantom Blade Zero, followed by the promise of a deep-dive State of Play dedicated to it later this summer, ahead of its, you guessed it, September release.

Silent Hill: Townfall

The new Silent Hill: Townfall trailer looks suitably horrible. September 24 is the release date for that one. I hope you weren't planning on leaving the house in September.

Dune: Awakening

More games to play in September! Dune: Awakening was shown off ahead of a September 22 release on PS5.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

A new look at Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls gave us villain Doctor Doom in action, as well as Magneto, Carnage, and Green Goblin ahead of the game's August 6 launch.

ILL

Back to the horrible stuff now and another look at ILL, coming in 2027. Again, it looks disgusting, if you're into that.

The Lost Wild

A first look at The Lost Wild was shown. Not a whole lot to go off from apart from some dinosaurs and some stealth gameplay. Looks cool!

Bancho the Chef

Dave the Diver developer Mintrocket revealed a prequel telling the origin story of its sushi master, Bancho the Chef.

Marathon

Bungie gave us a look at Marathon's second season, Nightfall, which launches today. Unsurprisingly, no mention of Destiny.

No Rest for the Wicked

The full 1.0 release of Moon Studio's No Rest for the Wicked is coming to PS5 in October.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve had a story trailer for us. The release date is October 2.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered got a release date of October 1, 2026.
