Prime Video Now With Ads Technology

Got an email this morning prime video to introduce ads during video playback from 5th Feb or pay an extra £2.99 a month to have ad free.

An update on Prime Video

We are writing to you today about an upcoming change to your Prime Video experience. Starting February 5, Prime Video movies and TV shows will include limited advertisements. This will allow us to continue investing in compelling content and keep increasing that investment over a long period of time. We aim to have meaningfully fewer ads than ad-supported TV channels and other streaming TV providers. No action is required from you, and there is no change to the current price of your Prime membership. We will also offer a new ad-free option for an additional £2.99 per month* that you can sign up for here.

I only ever signed up for Prime Delivery. Prime Video is a bonus as I only watch a few TV episodes here and there, in total probably 3 hours viewing in a week. Couldn't care about some ads.

I pay the yearly fee anyway for the next day deliveries, it's excellent value for the amount of things I buy off Amazon. Prime Video is an added bonus for me, still annoying they are putting ads in though

I only watch a few shows on it so I'm not really bothered if they introduce a few ads.

It looks like most of the streaming services are increase their prices or going down the ads route anyway (some are doing both).

Doesn't bother me at all. If the quality on offer is better than terrestrial TV then that's what matters for me
