The post lacks detail and context about Vettel's career or the retirement announcement. It seems more like a placeholder than a substantive contribution to the discussion.

Big fan of Seb. Couldn't quite do it at Ferrari, but was a top driver before that. Seems an all-round decent guy.

That's such a wonderful statement from Vettel.

One of the greats.

Yeah me too. Hasn't been in good form for a few years now but that is more about the car than the driver. Always seems like a decent guy.

One of the most personable and respected drivers on the grid.

Dominated the sport during his time at Red Bull winning 4 consecutive championships but unfortunately couldn't bring success to Ferrari.

Will be missed on race weekends.

Excellent driver, even better representative for the sport.

In his pomp, arguably one of the greatest we've ever seen, just a shame we didn't appreciate it at the time as we didn't like the dominance.

I really grew towards Seb in his later years in F1. When he was good, boy he was good! He has been showing flashes of that recently but not enough and I think this is a good move.

He has a very clever voice for other things outside of F1 and I hope he does well with this, his climate change work is important and I look forward to seeing what he does with it.

Great career and a bloody fast driver on a Saturday. I think F1 will miss a character like him around.

I'm probably in the minority who always liked Vettel, even in his Red Bull days!

He'll be missed, but it was equally sad to see him drive around in 11th or 12th.

Would be a great addition to the Sky F1 team.

I didn't like Red Bull Seb, but really warmed to him when he moved to Ferrari and matured a bit. It's a huge shame that he didn't get a 5th World Championship in a Ferrari. Will miss him a lot on the grid.

I'm going to miss Vettel. His win for Toro Rosso in the rain at Monza in 2008 was a joy to watch, and I've enjoyed watching him ever since. As a Ferrari fan, it would have been perfect if he'd managed to win a championship for Maranello, but four world championships is an exceptional record all the same. I know some people don't like his activism, but he's one of the senior members of the grid and he's using that position to campaign for things that are important. And let's face it, how many other drivers of his stature would be prepared to clean the stands after a race at Silverstone? He was always a bit serious when he was winning at Red Bull, but as he's aged he's become more pragmatic about his chances of being at the business end and has mellowed out as a result, winning over people who wouldn't necessarily have been fans of his in the past. He will be a loss to the grid, even if his results over the last few years have been average at best, but hopefully he'll stay in the sport in some capacity.
