The latest from Blumhouse is a remake of an excellent, but grim, Danish thriller/horror from a few years back.

I wouldn't normally be a fan of remakes but the reviews were very positive plus it's got James McAvoy who rarely disappoints (and doesn't here either.. he's excellent!)

Proper nerve-jangling from start to finish with an always present sense of unease throughout.

So I do recommend it!

The difference being I came away from the original feeling that while I really enjoyed it, I never want to watch that again...if you know, you know!

Whereas I'll gladly watch this again...if just for McAvoy having fun with that performance.

I found this to be slow and boring at times, I just couldn't get into it. The last 30 minutes are where the film shines but it felt like too little too late at this point, and I've already seen McAvoy play a variation of this character in Split.
