The Midnight Sky (2020) Movie Thread

I've not read the book upon which this is based, and I may have simply watched too many movies ... but as soon as I finished this trailer, I thought to myself, "the kid's a ghost or hallucination, and Clooney's playing Felicity Jones' dad, right?"

Looks good though, feels like a while since we last saw Clooney in something; 'cos feels like he has aged a good bit since then

I read the book a while back, quite enjoyed it I can see what attracted Clooney to the production and role.

Look forward to seeing it as film editing will probably remove a lot of the filler, not that it was bad from the book.

The Globe & Mail's critic has some good things to say but is unimpressed with Clooney as a director (not just this, all of Clooney's directorial efforts) so that kind of biased him against it.

I enjoyed the book, it is rather slow but it drew me in emotionally, even with it being slightly obvious where it was going.

The film was just poor - I can't put it any other way, unfortunately. The two leads did not fit imo.

I was going to watch this but the reviews have mostly been poor.

Midnight Sky is quite ordinary. The first hour was good then it went downhill.

Nice special effects but a total lack of any interesting story and none of the science made any sense at all. You could see the twist coming a mile off.

The book is much better.

I thought I would have enjoyed this but I couldn't have been more wrong. Not for me.

Watched it the other night. Found it to be a bit slow but it was alright

Not sure they made the most of whatever twist there was supposed to be
