Seen it today with my 5-year-old. First time going to the cinema with him so I was delighted he stayed in his seat and watched the whole thing. For me, it was run-of-the-mill stuff, but I love Mario and Nintendo, so was happy with all the references. The main gripe I did have was the use of 3rd party music. It wasn't needed. The Mario soundtrack is good enough, I would have been perfectly happy if the whole score was taken from the game's rich history of sound.

Took my niece and nephew to see this today. We all enjoyed it. I thought it was precisely what you'd expect it to be, just like the Sonic movies, turn your brain off for an hour or so, and it was grand, not the disaster the reviews made it out to be.
