Perrin and Egwene run into a familiar face. Mat and Rand see strange ones. Moiraine and Lan mourn their loss.

A nice episode to do some world building, slow down and get some character building in. I was really worried about Loial when I saw the visual but the actor was fantastic. Some real nice easter eggs in there and a nice focus on the warder/Aes Sedai bond. Good time to slow down for a bit and let people take things in and go through a lot of stuff they've mentioned before as opposed to fire hosing new viewers with stuff like earlier episodes.

Season 2 started airing yesterday. The first 3 episodes are available.

I've only seen the first two episodes, but first impressions are that everything is improved over the first season. The fight scenes have too many cuts in them, but other than that it's been good.

Episodes 2 and 3 are very good. Best run of episodes so far.

Season 2 is a definite improvement over season 1 at least, and the last few episodes (especially ep 6) were the best so far. Some of the changes from the books made sense in the context of the show, some were disappointing.

I'm nearing the end of the first season. I like it, and I also think that Game of Thrones simply raised the bar so high that flaws of this and LOTR series seem bigger than they would seem if GoT never existed. But that's how it goes.
