The Woman in the Window (2021) Movie Thread

From Joe Wright, starring Amy Adams; based on a novel apparently, but the "Rear Window" vibes are coming off strong with this one. Comes out May 14 on Netflix

The book was only ok and the film stayed true to it. My wife told me to read it before the film came out and I was left underwhelmed by it, same as the film really.

What a waste of a brilliant cast. Awful stuff. Gary Oldman, Julianne Moore and Jennifer Jason Leigh, in particular, got hardly any screen time. I think Jennifer Jason Leigh said maybe 4 or 5 lines throughout the entire film.

How did Joe Wright and Tracy Letts manage to get this so spectacularly wrong?

I expected a lot worse given the bad reviews. There's a serious amount of talent involved so, yes on paper it should've been way better but if you go in with low expectations you might enjoy it.
