British actor Tim Curry has died aged 80, according to multiple reports. He was best known for his unforgettable performance as Dr Frank-N-Furter in the 1975 cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Across a career spanning more than five decades, Curry also terrified a generation as Pennywise in the 1990 adaptation of Stephen King's It, while appearing in classics including Clue, Annie, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and Muppet Treasure Island. He was also an acclaimed stage and voice actor, earning three Tony Award nominations and a Daytime Emmy.
Curry suffered a major stroke in 2012 and subsequently used a wheelchair, but continued working in voice acting and occasionally appeared publicly in the years that followed.
