I can't imagine this ever being as good as the original but, let's face it, once they have epic, well shot, dog-fights with real planes tearing off runways to that theme tune, I'll be happy

Saw a long preview for it when I went to see Dr Strange. Honestly, I figured it would be another cash grab trying to catfish us all with nostalgia. And it probably is that, but it is that in the best possible way. It was only 5 or so minutes. But it felt like it was a proper sequel to Top Gun. If the rest of the movie is as good as that, then it's going to be awesome. Fingers crossed.

Absolutely brilliant film. Nostalgic from the very first second, if you are a fan of the original you will totally love this.

Saw in the cinema last night. Really enjoyed it overall even though parts were cheesy.

It'd be much better having seen the first one before seeing this one. Lots of reminiscing and flashbacks.

Went with Eily last night.

It was absolutely epic! Plenty of action and an emotional rollercoaster throughout the mission. Not giving any spoilers away but it was as good as Top Gun, if not better. Couldn't take my eyes off the screen! Definitely worth a watch - and on the big screen if you possibly can.

Loved it, some of the dialogue is a bit cheesy and Jon Hamm is a bit hammy but it's just great fun. The aerial scenes are amazing!
