Everton have received a bid worth €10million from Atalanta to sign defender Ben Godfrey.

The verbal proposal fell below Everton's asking price of £15m, which is the figure offered by another club for the 26-year-old.

Godfrey is thought to be keen on joining Atalanta but the Serie A team must get closer to Everton's valuation if they are to prevent him moving elsewhere or staying at Goodison Park.

Barcelona youngster Marc Guiu is set to undergo a medical with Chelsea. The club have activated a £5m (€6m) release clause in his contract. Guiu is an 18-year-old striker and Chelsea see as a development talent for the future.

Chelsea have contacted Leicester City to express an interest in signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

No formal offer has been made yet but the 25-year-old is believed to be keen only on a move to Stamford Bridge if he is to leave his boyhood club.

His contract at King Power Stadium runs until 2027.

Dewsbury-Hall is seen as a perfect fit for the style of football Chelsea want to play under new head coach Enzo Maresca, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino in charge earlier this summer.

The pair worked together at Leicester as they secured promotion to the Premier League as winners of the Championship last season.

Brighton have agreed a fee in the region of £33million for Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh.

Newcastle have given the 19-year-old permission to discuss personal terms with Brighton. Those talks will take place this evening but are not expected to be a major issue.

Newcastle were seeking to sell Minteh in order to ease their difficulties with the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules (PSR). The club were leaving themselves open to a possible points deduction for next season if they failed to make a significant sale before the June 30 reporting deadline.

Reports suggest that Newcastle were holding talks with multiple clubs over potential deals to resolve their PSR issues. Those included discussions with Nottingham Forest over Minteh, as well as academy graduate Elliot Anderson, with winger Anthony Elanga potentially heading to Newcastle in a separate deal.
