Everton have made an offer for Manchester United's Joshua Zirkzee and the striker is keen on a move to Merseyside. United must now decide whether to allow the Dutchman to leave the club ahead of the 11pm deadline. Everton have also agreed a deal to sign United States forward Folarin Balogun from Monaco but that move appears to be in doubt. Their offer for Zirkzee is related to their pursuit of Balogun.

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Monaco for the signing of midfielder Lamine Camara.

Earlier on Tuesday, Chelsea were keen on a move for the 22-year-old and had seen a €45million offer rejected.

A further, improved bid in the region of £47m (€54m) has now been accepted, however, ahead of the 11pm deadline.

The player has agreed terms on a six-year contract with the option of a further 12 months, has completed a medical and is set to arrive in London on Wednesday.

Sunderland have beaten Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in the race to sign Lyon winger Malick Fofana.

Palace were working to hijack Sunderland's move for the 21-year-old winger.

Sunderland had reached an agreement to sign the Belgium international in a deal worth in excess of €30million (£25.7m), including bonuses, a deal Palace also agreed with the French club.

Sunderland have now reached a full agreement with Lyon for Fofana's transfer in a deal worth €30m (£25.7m; $34.7m) + €5m (£4.2m; $6.7m).

Tottenham Hotspur have completed a deal to sign Mykhailo Mudryk on loan from Chelsea until the end of the season.

The north London side have the option to make the move permanent for a fee of £75million.

They have also agreed a deal to sign centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo from Chelsea, marking the first time that a player has moved directly between the two clubs since 2009, when goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini joined Spurs.

Mudryk is set to be reunited with Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi, having starred under the Italian at Shakhtar Donetsk.

And, the transfer window is now shut until January 2027.

There will still be some deals trickling through once paperwork is finalised and some countries' windows don't close today.

Everton's move for Folarin Balogun was cancelled after the United States men's national team striker decided against the transfer.

Everton had renegotiated a deal for Balogun with his club, Monaco, after issues arose during the 25-year-old's medical. They submitted a dealsheet - a document submitted to the Premier League that secures a club an extra two-hour 'grace period' to get a transfer over the line past the league's 11pm deadline - to complete the transfer on Tuesday night, but Balogun opted not to proceed with the move and left their Finch Farm training ground without signing.

It leaves Everton with a shortage of strikers after they also failed in a bid to sign Zirkzee from Manchester United on loan.

Chelsea also failed to sign Lamine Camara, the deal was agreed, paperwork exchanged but Monaco did not give final confirmation to the transfer and once a revised agreement was reached with Everton over Balogun, they the Balogun deal fell through and it was too late for Chelsea to revive the Camara deal because the 11pm transfer deadline had passed and Monaco had not signed a deal sheet to enable an extension.
