Season 3, coming to Netflix in 2024, will be the last season of Vikings: Valhalla.

Here's the full statement from series creator Jeb Stuart on why it was the right time to conclude Vikings: Valhalla with Season 3:

"I am so grateful to have had three seasons to tell the stories of Leif, Harald and Freydis. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to show the evolution of how three of the most famous Vikings became the icons we know today and we have done just that.

I hope when the audience gets to see the new season, they'll be excited by all the new heights that we've taken these heroes. When we started this project 5 years ago, I worked hard with this incredible cast and crew to craft a journey that we all hoped would be satisfying.

Of course with real historical figures, there are always more aspects of their lives that could be explored, but it made sense story-wise for our Leif, Freydis and Harald's voyages to end with our third season. And we really cannot wait for the fans to see the conclusion of this chapter of history."

Including Season 3, Vikings: Valhalla will have had a total of 24 episodes to tell its epic saga of some of history's most famous Vikings

Just finished season 3. If I so annoying they cancelled it right before the climax i.e. 1066.

The concept of the sequal series was about the end of the viking age. Harald Hardrada leading the last viking invasion of Britain. The final fall of Saxon rule in England and Rollo's great-great-great-grandson being crowned King of the English.

I assume all that would have been the final season. In hindsight, they should have just done that as a one off mini-series rather than 3 seasons of buildup to nothing.

Enjoyed it but it could have been so much better with more episodes/another season.

I totally agree Mamacita Mamacita

The end of the Viking age is when Harald Hardrada died in England I think, which was a part of the whole 1066 events timeline.

I wish they finished the story, because they'd introduced William Duke of Normandy in S3 with an obvious story to tell and round out the whole series from the start of Vikings to the end of Valhalla.

Hardrada must be one of the biggest ultimate tough bast'ards in history, it would probably require an entire series just for him alone.
