What things do you hate about this time of year?

For me, it's Christmas decorations out before Halloween.

Falling leaves. My wife still doesn't buy into the "leave them and let them become mulch" line so raking is going to happen at some point.

And I'll second Tom Tom on the pumpkin spice. Pumpkin spice belongs in pumpkin pie and some other desserts, period. I do not need it in my chai or any other beverage.

Impending darkness and the inability to do anything about it.

Hate going out in the morning in the dark and starting/finishing work in the dark.

Agreed.

Clocks changing at the end of October. Sure you get an extra hour in bed, but you are literally plunged into darkness in the afternoon.
Anyone who doesn't think we should be on permanent summer time is plain wrong

Yeah, same issue here. We actually have a law on the books to do it but it is conditional on neighbouring jurisdictions with which we do significant business (US states of Michigan, Ohio, New York; province of Quebec) doing it. Might happen eventually.

But other than the time change and having to rake the bloody leaves, I am largely a fan of Fall. I don't like the heat of summer so the cooler weather is welcome. Much nicer for my walks and outdoor bike rides than the mugginess that we tend to get through July and August.

My garden covered in wet leaves. I love my trees but I hate cleaning up the bloody leaves.

BIG spiders.

Fireworks scaring the life out of my pets.
