Sitting in the kitchen this morning and my 3 year old was looking out the window and remarked that she could see a blackbird.

My nearly 5 year old pipes up "thats a blackbird like the blackbird singing in the dead of night"

Mini-me (3) has been asking to go to a swimming pool for absolutely months.The last time she was in one was probably February 2020, and she wasn't even 2 then, so she probably doesn't remember.

We bought a gym membership a couple of weeks ago and I finally got her into the pool last week for the first time. She was so, so excited. I brought her back today and she was just thrilled, splashing around and delighted with herself. It was just lovely to see.

In the bathroom getting ready for bed tonight and my 3.5 year old told me she'd like to have a baby when she grew up. I asked her if it was a boy, what would she call him. Frank apparently. Asked her if it was a girl what would she call her, Amelia. Heart melted.

Sitting on the bus, having the chats with my daughter, and out of nowhere she looks at me and goes, pure seriously, "Mom, I would never poke you in the eye so hard that it falls out. Even if you were really mean to me, I'd never do it."
