Have an ongoing battle with my daughter about treats. Drives me crazy, the more she gets the more she want. Whinging is an art form at this stage.

Anyway, my girl was fed up the other day and she said "I'm going to live somewhere else!"
Me : "ok where are you going?"
Her: "somewhere where they feed me what I want aaaallll the time"
Me "best of luck with that"

I hear you, Lisa

I get stuff like, "you are so mean, Mum, you never let us to anything, whinge, whinge, etc etc".

I always reply back, "good, then I'm doing my job properly".

"I only did that when I was two. I am three now daddy. That was so yesterday".

Where do they GET this stuff?

When my kids are whinging for something I sometimes say "well I want a pony" in effort to teach them "want" does not equal "get"

Just now my 3-year-old daughter was putting all her crayons on the floor along with all her toys.

I said "please don't I want to tidy up and wash floor"

She looked up and said "and I want a pony"

Not sure if I should laugh or cry!

My daughter said bye to grandad, and we were heading home. She said "I hope grandad is fine and not crying."

She thinks if anybody has been left alone, he/she will cry.

When your toddler starts saying your phrases back to you!

Three year old couldn't find a part of one of her toys. "t will turn up itself" she says to me...basically what I say when I can't find something for her and can't deal with looking any more.

3 year old swore for the first time yesterday evening

I had whacked my foot on the edge of the table over the weekend and shouted FFS!! within earshot of her.

Yesterday, she was eating her jelly and some fell off the spoon on to the floor. She just looked down, paused for 4 or 5 seconds. The blunted out "for f*ck sake".

I didn't laugh thankfully as I was more shocked than anything. I'm just impressed with her use of context but hoping that she doesn't break it out when she is creche, I don't want to become known as one of those parents.

Her Winnie the Pooh teddy was sitting on the table across from her. Every so often she'd look over at Pooh and exclaim 'No Pooh, Mine!" No fear of Pooh getting any of her cereal!!

Driving through town yesterday morning.

"oh look mummy there is a bakery"

"No, that's actually a coffee shop, it's called Costa Coffee"

"Custard Coffee......? Can we go there next time, do they have gingerbread mans?"

When she wants me to do something with her she says "C'mon Tata" and beckons to me with her fingers. She's 3 & 6 months, it cracks me up.
