The post raises relevant concerns about the XL Bully breed but lacks clarity in its argument and could benefit from more structured thoughts. It opens an important conversation but needs more detail and context to be truly helpful.

I was talking to a council work yesterday, she says they have just been given their remit and will be visiting anyone who owns XL bullies in the next month. They are just gathering data on who and where the owners are.

After recent news of the UK government opting to ban the American XL Bully. It will join an exclusive list of only four other dog breeds that are illegal to own in the United Kingdom as part of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.

1. Dogo Argentino
2. Japanese Tosa
3. Fila Brasileiro
4. Pit Bull Terrier
5. American XL Bully

A Bully XL attacked and killed another dog in my neighbourhood before turning on its owner who is now in hospital with his injuries. The attack happened along the fence perimeter of a children's play park. Thankfully the park was empty at the time.

Apparently there was another attack in the area a few weeks earlier

I found out yesterday that one in our village has been put down.

A lesson for all.

Met the dog as a puppy and would walk with mine, no real issues and behaved like a normal dog/puppy.

Evidently only a few weeks ago, this dog wouldn't be two years old. The owner put his arm around his wife and the dog went for him, biting his arm, quote "his eyes just glazed" managed to get it if then it grabbed the wife, biting her shoulder.

The only managed to get him to stop my throwing ham onto the floor.

They managed to get the dog into the back garden, the police acted on the fact that it had bitten and it was put down.

They have young kids at home. Scary stuff

There's a guy breeding them near us. He's covered head to foot in tattoos, been raided for drugs at least 4 times and he's now breeding and selling these dogs at £9K a pup - the missus reckons it is a money laundering scheme!!

Another one jailed for an XL Bully attack. Already banned after owning a dog that attacked someone.

Dogs ram through an open door to attack a dog and a puppy. But of course everyone who owns an XL Bully tells you "he/she is just a big softie and plays with the kids and wouldn't hurt a fly"

18 months jail-time, should have been 5 years and a life ban from owning dogs.
